Three frames & a wedding

Orlaith Woods and Niall McDermott stepped into a photo booth. Three flashes later the evidence was conclusive: get married. So they are.

The Rolls

Every relationship leaves a paper trail. Theirs is mostly glossy, 6×4, slightly overexposed.

ROLL 01

The Meeting

The couple in Basketball Ireland kit at an international officials' table
the green of Ireland, and yer two at the table
Holding two National Cups on court
two clubs, two cups, one very smug photo

It started, as all Limerick stories do, in a sports hall. She coaches the Huskies. He coaches the Eagles. There was basketball, there was slagging, and neither has stopped since. Some couples share a Netflix login; these two share a National Cup season.

the real how-we-met story goes here — Niall owes the booth a voice note

ROLL 02

Away Games

Arms up at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign
Vegas — scouting trip, allegedly
Piggyback on a desert dune at sunset
Dubai — carrying the team as usual
Kneeling in snow beside two king penguins
the only double date they've ever agreed on

Between fixtures they clocked up the air miles: desert sunsets, Greek islands, one questionable encounter with formal wear in the snow. Every trip ended the same way: home to Limerick, back to training, arguing about the itinerary photos.

ROLL 03

The Yes

Windswept selfie on an Irish headland
Atlantic wind: 1 — hairdo: 0
Black and white photo by the Christmas tree, ring hand showing
spot the sparkler

Then one day there was a question, a good one, and she said yes. The booth got its fourth frame booked for April 2027.

Step Into the Booth

The RSVP takes three frames and thirty seconds. Look at the lens, act natural.

Working model · live with the invites

The Booth

One strip per household. Flash included, free of charge.

When this goes live, your name pulls up the whole household — one strip does everyone.

Frame two — Friday, the wedding
Frame two — Saturday, the Treehouse

Lovely. Hold that smile.

Your strip is developing and your place is held. When the real booth opens in January, it'll be this exact thirty seconds.

We'll leave your frame empty — and miss you in it.

Genuinely. There'll be prints, and stories, and your name will come up kindly in both.

Booth closes 1 March 2027 (to be confirmed on the invites)

No form? Tell any of the bridal party instead — analogue always works.

Notes on the Back

Every good print has an answer scribbled on the back. Flip them.

What do I wear?

Your absolute finest: colour welcome, comfort wise. Two rules only: no white unless you're the bride, and no club jerseys. Yes, both clubs. We know you.

Is Saturday open to everyone?

Completely. Treehouse at the Woodlands, from 4, comfy clothes, sore heads welcome. If you're near Adare, you're expected.

Can I bring the kids?

Your invite will name everyone included — check it when it lands, and just ask if you're unsure.

Phones in the church?

Ruling arrives with the invites. Either way Black Diamond & MDA have every angle; you can watch this one with your actual eyes.

What about presents?

Your presence is the present; most of ye are crossing the country for us. There'll be a card box on the day. That's the end of that conversation.

When do I RSVP by?

1 March 2027 (to be confirmed on the invites). Do it now while you're thinking of it: thirty seconds, three frames.

What's the weather plan?

April in Ireland: all four seasons before the soup. Everything's indoors; bring a coat for the photos.
